Heavy Rainfall Likely in Parts of Four Provinces

Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a continued influence of monsoon winds across Nepal, with the monsoon low-pressure line positioned around its normal area. As a result, the country is experiencing varying degrees of cloud cover and rainfall.

Currently, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are experiencing general to full cloud cover, while the rest of the country is partly to generally cloudy. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring nationwide.

The forecast for today indicates partly to generally cloudy conditions across the country, with light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, expected in several places across Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is particularly likely in one or two areas within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy with continued chances of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in many areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Department has issued a warning to residents of Koshi, Madhes, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces to remain alert due to the potential for heavy rainfall in these regions.
